CHURCH OF PENTECOST RELAXES DRESS CODE
Feathers are being ruffled within the Church of Pentecost. in a rare display of Apostolic Authority the College of Apostles, Prophets and Evangelists of The Church of Pentecost have decided to relax the age old dogma of a strict dress code and head covering. The announcement has been received with mixed reactions.
Apostle Dr Opoku Onyinah chairman of the church says it is in keeping with modern times to prevent the church from lagging behind. Diehards see it as a betrayal and defeat whiles modernizers see it as long overdue. After all "if God can use Joyce Meyer and people like her who do not cover their hair why should we be strict about it?" Opined one member of the church.
We eagerly wait the fallout of this decision but one thing is very clear, some other churches can no longer ignore their debilitating dogmas. Deeper life Church, the Catholic church,the SDA church and such like must all be feeling some pressure now.
The church of Pentecost have taken a remarkable step of gigantic proportions and the ripples are set to be felt through out Christendom. They do deserve commendation for such clear display of Apostolic authority. Do you think that it is about time the church reformed unhelpful dogmas? Bearing in mind that covering ones hair or not does not in any way impact on their salvation.
Is it time for measured reforms?? Just thinking . . .!

the Bible in Matt 11:29 says 'learn of me' it did not say learn of Joyce Meyer. This is one of the biggest mistakes people who profess to be christains are making. We tend to want to learn from People of God or People that preach the Gosple that exhibit lives that suit our expectations. As For women of God who wear trousers, don't put on scarves and put on make up. Acts 17:30 says 'And the times of this ignorance God Winked' The church of Pentecost is not ignorant they know the truth and are rather going back on themselves and that is the greatest mistake. Are we trying to say Joyce Meyer is better than us or are we being tempted by the forbidden fruit being offered by woman to man. God is no respector of man and several revelations fron the United States have shown that America and the rest of the world will know the true meaning of christianity from Africa. Its a shame that our leaders want to learn from the multitudes and current trends though. the word of God never changes
ReplyDeleteTHANKS FOR THE COMMENT BUT I'D APPRECIATE IF YOU IDENTIFY YOURSELF. ANY WAY I DON'T BELONG TO THE PENTECOST CHURCH BUT I DO NOT SEE ANYTHING SCRIPTURALLY WRONG WITH THE APOSTOLIC DIRECTIVE. MAY BE IT IS TIME TO SEPARATE BETWEEN DOCTRINE AND DOGMA.
ReplyDeleteThe word of God never changes. The earlier the church repents, the better. Even if it's one person who'd not compromise to the end, that person would be enough and God would burn all the rest. Why should the church which should be a centre of rescue from worldly seduction be a pool of snare? God save us.....Seducing women on the street...Seducing women in the church....to where do we run? It's really true that, THE WORLD HAS BECOME SO CHURCHY AND THE CHURCH S WORLDLY THAT ONE CANNOT DISTINGUISH BETWEEN THE TWO....God Save PENTECOST with a GREAT DELIVERANCE
